FC Barcelona Ready for First Game at Renovated Camp Nou over the weekend

Barcelona have announced they will play at the partially upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league 30 months after they moved out for construction to commence.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited but 45,401 spectators can be present based on approved permits. When completed, it will accommodate over 104,000 attendees, up from the previous 99,000. Barça announced completed upgrades featured a renovated tunnel for players and new dressing rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barcelona held a fan-accessible workout inside the stadium in early November. Officials stated they were hoping for permission from European football’s governing body to host the next European match versus the German side in December at the stadium. Previous fixtures took place in the temporary ground.
