Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Hospital in Nigeria Following Deadly Road Accident

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople stated on Wednesday night. The fighter was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on Monday, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The boxer had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, representatives stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.

“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” Omotosho said.

Remembering the Victims

The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”

This update on his health follows the boxing community had expressed sympathy for the star in the wake of the devastating accident.
